Dal nastro di una audiocassetta pubblicata dalla Jungle Hop International in un ormai lontanissimo 1985 alla ristampa in formato vinilico di questo appena iniziale (e già speriamo breve) 2022 a cura della World Gone Mad Records e Crapoulet Records; secoli fa se non che, fortunatamente, la musica ha uno scorrere “temporale” un pò diverso rispetto al nostro misero e quotidiano consumarsi (ed anche perdersi nella memoria). 28 tracce di un devastante (a tratti folle e visionario) punk-hardcore di bands, in questo caso tutte francesi, che infiammarono la scena musicale ed un contesto storico non solo francese (italietta compresa, memoria prima e poi questo presente) quale fu quello sul nascere degli anni ‘80. Il “suono” è quello che è e come è giusto che sia seppur rimasterizzato su vinile, grezzo e sporco fin nel midollo se poi preferite un suono asettico alla Bee Gees od alla Beyoncé allora è meglio che cerchiate altrove perchè non lo troverete certo in queste tracce né ce lo tirerete fuori neanche pregando in indù; di pancia e cuore, tanto per darvi solo qualche “input” speriamo giusto e senza alcuna pretesa “sociologica”. E si parte con il tutto sommato più rassicurante punk-rock dei Les Vandales (si sono riformati nel 2017 e qui trovate il loro ultimo Ep) con Les Bombes, Society’s Oppression ed una tiratissima Nucléaire (di scuola 7 Seconds); c’è l’hardcore devastante dei Rapt attivi dal 1984 al 1986, o lo si ama o lo si rigetta a prescindere ma un pezzo come Torture non può non lasciare indifferenti, una martellante sezione ritmica in stile Wire che poi esploderà in una “violenza” liberatoria quanto necessaria e non sono da meno Stupides Terroristes e Apocalypse Now. E poi ancora i Final Blast, i Kromozom 4, i Butcher con una distruttiva The Possibilities, il grindcore a firma Heimat Los con una travolgente Warszawa, il più classico punk dei parigini Gonocoke (vita breve la loro, come gruppo intendiamo, 1982 – 1983) con due pezzi, Poison Boy e Politicar che restano ancora un bel sentire e lo resteranno. Noi ci fermiamo qui, a voi il piacere di scoprire il resto e nella sua interezza; una cosa è certa (sappiamo benissimo di stare parlando di un genere che forse non sarà gradito ai più), anche se potrebbe sembrare il contrario (è quello che quotidianamente ci viene raccontato, motivo per il quale siamo qui a parlarvi di un nastro che per la precisione risale a 37 anni fa) niente di quella storia/eredità è andato perduto, brucia ancora e continuerà a bruciare, perchè come una volta qualcuno ci ha ricordato ed amiamo ricordare “Senza amor non vale nulla”. Da Roots! è tutto e come sempre buon ascolto (qui).

From the tape of an audio cassette published by Jungle Hop International in a by now very distant 1985 to the reissue in vinyl format of this just initial (and hopefully short) 2022 edited World Gone Mad Records and Crapoulet Records; centuries ago except that, fortunately, the music has a somewhat different “temporal” flow compared to our miserable and daily consummation (and also get lost in memory). 28 tracks of a devastating (at times crazy and visionary) punk-hardcore of bands, in this case all French, that inflamed the music scene and a context not only French historian (including Italy, memory first and then this present) which was that in the early 1980s. The “sound” is what it is and how it should be remastered on vinyl, raw and dirty to the core if you prefer an aseptic sound to the Bee Gees or to the Beyoncé then it is better that you look elsewhere because you will certainly not find it in these tracks or there you won’t even get out by praying in Hindu; of belly and heart, just to give you some “input” hopefully right and without any “sociological” pretense. And it starts with the all in all more reassuring punk-rock by Les Vandales (they reformed in 2017 and here is their latest Ep) with Les Bombes, Society’s Oppression and a very tight Nucléaire (from the 7 Seconds school); there is the devastating hardcore of Rapt active from 1984 to 1986, either you love it or reject it regardless but a piece like Torture cannot fail to leave indifferent, a pounding rhythm section in Wire style which will then explode in a liberating “violence” when necessary and are no less Stupides Terroristes and Apocalypse Now. And then again the Final Blast, the Kromozom 4, the Butcher with one destructive The Possibilities, the grindcore signed by Heimat Los with an overwhelming Warszawa, the most classic punk of the Parisians Gonocoke (their short life, as a group we mean, 1982-1983) with two pieces, Poison Boy and Politicar which still remain good to hear and will remain so. We stop here, to you the pleasure of discovering the rest and in its entirety; one thing is certain (we know very well of being talking about a genre that perhaps will not be appreciated by most), even if it might seem like the on the contrary (it is what we are told every day, which is why we are here to talk to you of a tape that dates back to 37 years ago) nothing of that history/heritage has been lost, it still burns and will continue to burn, because as someone once remembered us and we love remember “Without love it is worth nothing”.
