Conoscete quel vecchio detto che “la mela non cade lontano dall’albero”? Ecco, una volta vista l’artwork (impossibile che vi sia “sfuggita”) potrete già intuire cosa vi aspetta ad un ascolto. Sono bravi questi ragazzi australiani ma la domanda che ci poniamo è un altra (ed è una bella domanda)….Ma di quali cazzo di demoni si nutrono??….Non certo di quelli più “rassicuranti” del buon vecchio blues né quelli oramai stereotipati di un punk fine a se stesso….deve esserci altro….di “deviato”, di informe, di non “suonabile”, non etichettabile…Un tribal noise-core che sembra rivomitare (ri-vomitarci addosso) tutta la peggiore “merda” di questo mondo e scusateci per il termine “merda” (in questo caso elevata a forma d’arte) ma di merda in questo fottuto mondo ce n’è fin troppa e non è certo per colpa degli Asssouls né nostra. Pausa….Eustace Loop alla “voce”, drumkit ed effetti vari, Dave But Not That Other Dave al basso e batteria e Trophy Wife al basso, seconda drumkit e sempre effetti vari….Give You A Warning (ed il loro successivo Aren’t Gonna Ask You Again praticamente una entità unica) disordine, caos, fredda logica post-industriale, post-moderna, post-nulla, 12 tracce devastanti da ascoltare come un tutto (in caso contrario meglio lasciar perdere), forma canzone pari a 0 (zero), a tratti solo “sfiorata” (scopritelo da soli)…il resto sarà altro. Disturbante/spiazzante/arte (forse) / un cesso (forse)….ma questo spetta solo a voi dirlo (da parte nostra sarebbe del tutto inutile alla “causa” quanto insignificante). Due parole sulla ENDE Records…qui non amiamo le varie “etichette” di genere o “sigle” che dovrebbero riassumere una scelta/pensiero, tant’è ciascuno fa quello che ritiene più giusto “The most uncompromising and controversial antifascist, pro-LGBTQIA independent, underground electronic music, resource/publishing label in Australia since 2014”….a prescindere tanto di cappello. Siete su Roots! e come sempre buon ascolto (qui), godete e condividete.

You know that old saying that “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”? Well, once you see the artwork (it’s impossible that you “missed”) you can already guess what awaits you when listening. These guys are good but the question we ask ourselves is another (and it’s a good question)….But what fucking demons does their music feed on??….Aren’t they the most “reassuring” ones than the good old blues nor those by now stereotypes of a punk end in itself….there must be something else….and let’s suppose “deviated”, shapeless, not “playable” and not labelable…A tribal noise-core that seems vomit (vomit on) all the worst “shit” of this world and sorry for the term “shit” in this case elevated to an art form but there is too much shit in this fucking world and it is certainly not for The fault of the Asssouls nor ours. Pause….Eustace Loop on “voice”, drumkit and various effects, Dave But Not That Other Dave on bass and drums and Trophy Wife on bass, second drumkit and always various effects….Give You A Warning (and their following Aren’t Gonna Ask You Again pratically a unique entity) is disorder, chaos, cold post logic -industrial, post-modern, post-nothing, 12 devastating tracks to listen to as a whole (otherwise better forget it), song form 0 (zero), sometimes only “touched” (find out for yourself)…the rest will be something else. Disturbing / unsettling / art (perhaps) / a toilet (perhaps)…. but this is only up to you to say (for our part it would be completely useless to the “cause” as insignificant). A few words about ENDE Records…here we don’t like the various genre “labels” or “acronyms” that should sum up a choice/thought, so much so that everyone does what they think is best “The most uncompromising and controversial antifascist, pro- LGBTQIA independent, underground electronic music, resource/publishing label in Australia since 2014”….regardless, hats off. You are on Roots! and as always good listening (here), enjoy and share.
