Pubblicità (si avete letto bene ma non per noi)…..primo perché dal momento che qui non ci guadagniamo assolutamente nulla non dobbiamo nemmeno rendere conto a nessuno e secondo perché ci sembrava una cosa carina più da fare che da non fare….c’è anche un terzo punto, a prescindere noi restiamo gli stessi disfunzionali (e probabilmente fessi) di sempre.
Segnatevi questa data, 20 marzo del corrente anno, giorno nel quale verrà pubblicato in formato vinilico a cura della piccola ma gloriosa/contagiosa Fruits de Mer Records il nuovo lavoro dopo un lungo periodo di silenzio a firma Schizo Fun Addict……”E con questo?” vi starete chiedendo….ok avete rotto il cazzo, primo perché uscirà in edizione limitata di sole 100 copie poi perché il vinile è ancora un bel sentire/vedere ma soprattutto è un ascolto “libero” molto più di quello “liquido” che ci viene spacciato come tale, perché un vinile è un po’ come….come un libro…..Un attimo, ci stavamo dimenticando della musica di questi Schizo (provenienza New Jersey), non un “capolavoro” (nel caso vi interessasse, a noi no) ma che sa farsi piacere senza pretendere di piacere, non ben etichettabile sebbene si muova principalmente su atmosfere dream-pop e shoegaze anni ’90 ma non solo…C’è la splendida Forever Before dalle delicate pennellate Smithsiane, il neo-beat di High School High, il paisley di Fate Chaser (Green Parade ma anche Velvet Underground, Jesus And Mery Chain…..inutile girarci intorno questa è la traccia che preferiamo, al cuor non si comanda), lo shoegaze elegante di Activate (se vi chiedete di chi sia questa “angelica” voce è di Ilona Virostek alias Ilona V), Over The Hills And Far Away (cover del brano dei Led Zeppelin) coraggiosa senza dubbio ma almeno alle nostre orecchie continuiamo a preferirgli l’originale (un sound “vecchio” per orecchie più vecchie), meglio la malinconica e notturna Outrun veramente bella o le atmosfere noise-pop di Subway Lillies e per concludere questo “assaggio” la conclusiva (cupa così come non ci si aspetterebbe ma come invece ben richedono questi tempi) Meet You In The Wind….Love Your Enemies… album “spoglio”, lontano, che non “brilla” (più autunnale che estivo) e che sembra starsene lì in disparte ed aspettare….pubblicità a parte ora sapete dove trovarlo. Da Roots! è tutto e come sempre buon ascolto (qui).

Advertisement (yes, you read that right but not for us)…..firstly because since we don’t earn absolutely nothing here we don’t even have to account to anyone and secondly because it seemed like a nicer thing to do than not to do…there is also a third point, regardless we remain the same dysfunctional (and probably stupid) as always.
Mark this date, March 20th of the current year, on which it will be released in vinyl format by the small but glorious/contagious Fruits de Mer Records, the new work after a long period of silence signed Schizo Fun Addict……”And with this?” you may be wondering….ok you fucked up, first because it will be released in a limited edition of only 100 copies then because vinyl is still a nice to hear/see but above all it is a “free” listening experience much more than the “liquid” one that it is passed off to us as such, because a vinyl is like….it is like a book…..One moment, we were forgetting about the music of these Schizos (from New Jersey), not a “masterpiece” (in case you interested, we are not) but who knows how to please without pretending to like, not well labelable although it moves mainly on dream-pop and 90s shoegaze atmospheres but not only…There is the splendid Forever Before with delicate Smithsian brushstrokes, the neo-beat of High School High, the paisley of Fate Chaser (Green Parade but also Velvet Underground, Jesus And Mery Chain…..needless to go around it, this is the track we prefer, the heart cannot be controlled), the elegant shoegaze by Activate (if you wonder who this “angelic” voice is from Ilona Viro stek alias Ilona V), Over The Hills And Far Away (cover of the song by Led Zeppelin) courageous without a doubt but at least to our ears we continue to prefer the original (an “old” sound for older ears), better the melancholy and really beautiful night Outrun or the noise-pop atmospheres of Subway Lillies and to conclude this “taste” the concluding (sombre as one would expect but as these times well demand) Meet You In The Wind….Love Your Enemies… it’s a “bare” album, far away, that doesn’t “shine” (more autumnal than summer), it seems to sit there on the sidelines and wait ….advertising aside now you know where to find it. From Roots! that’s all and as always good listening (here).
