I casi sono due….o esiste realmente un “portale spazio-tempo” che permette ai più meritevoli e degni di essere attraversato o questi ragazzi sono stati allattati e svezzati (alla faccia di un tutto e di tempi) a suon di Iron Maiden (primi Iron Maiden), Helloween, Deep Purple, Def Leppard, Whitesnake……Ma partiamo da un luogo, Los Angeles, California, James-Paul Luna alla voce, Fili Bibiano alla chitarra, basso e synths e Ben Richardson alla batteria, anno di grazia 2022, EP omonimo di debutto a firma Intranced…….Fermi, riavvolgete per un attimo “il nastro”…2022, 2012, 2006, 1998…ancora…1994, 1989…ci siete quasi…1987, 1985…1983 circa, mese più mese meno…ok, ora ci siete…Avete acceso il vostro impianto stereo girando la monopola del volume fino alla tacchetta del massimo??? (se non lo avete ancora fatto vuol dire che “non ci siete”)…..una breve intro strumentale, Angeles Nocturnos, lasciata alla chitarra di Fili Bibiano (veramente immenso) a diradare qualsiasi dubbio o incertezza…questo è, questo sarà….no, nessun revival o qualcosa di posticcio, questi ragazzi portano in alto una fiamma che ancora arde, intensa, viva, sicuramente “discutibile” ma che è ancora un gran bel sentire (ed a scanso di equivoci ci accontentiamo di una onestà di fondo e di intenti)….Upside Down ha un buon groove e trascinata dagli acuti vocali di Luna (roba non da tutti) ma sarà solo un “riscaldare i motori”….meglio Dream Lover, più definita, più “hard-metal” e con un crescendo nel refrain che tanto di cappello (sezione ritmica a martello, perfetta e da far invidia a molti)….c’è El Gran Deseo dalle atmosfere ancora hard-rock/prima NWOBHM, non imprescindibile ma che bel intermezzo di chitarra!…però ci siamo, gli Intranced sono sul pezzo…La titletrack vi riporterà spietatamente ad un altro sentire (nel caso lo abbiate dimenticato) dal sapore vagamente epico e con un solo di chitarra di fronte al quale c’è solo da inchinarsi, da brivido…e si tira il fiato con la conclusiva Danza Macabra, pezzo strumentale acustico-classico tremendamente breve, troppo breve per questo cazzo di fottutissimo mondo….E siamo così arrivati ad una “fine”…un portale che si richiude e quello che resta è la sensazione di aver ascoltato qualcosa di “onestamente” bello, ancora in divenire, pronto a sorprenderci e chissà…chissà se questi ragazzi avranno il “coraggio” di proiettarsi in un futuro tutto da esplorare…noi siamo già qui ad aspettare un seguito…e ci saremo malgrado un tutto. There are two cases….either there really is a “space-time portal” that allows the most deserving and worthy to be crossed or these kids were nursed and weaned (in spite of everything and times) to the sound of Iron Maiden (early Iron Maiden), Helloween, Deep Purple, Def Leppard, Whitesnake……But let’s start from a place, Los Angeles, California, James-Paul Luna on vocals, Fili Bibiano on guitar, bass and synths and Ben Richardson on drums, grace year 2022, self-titled debut EP by Intranced…….Stop, rewind “the tape” for a moment…2022, 2012, 2006, 1998..again…1994 , 1989…you are almost there…1987, 1985…1983 approximately, month plus month less…ok, now you are there…You turned on your stereo system by turning the volume knob to the maximum??? (if you haven’t done it yet, it means that “you’re not there”)….. a short instrumental intro, Angeles Nocturnos, played by Fili Bibiano’s guitar (really immense) to dispel any doubts or uncertainties… this is , this will be …. no, no revival or something false, these guys bring up a flame that still burns, intense, alive, certainly “questionable” but which is still a great feeling (and for the avoidance of doubt let’s settle for basic honesty and intentions)….Upside Down has a good groove and driven by Luna’s high vocals (not everyone’s stuff) but it will only be “warming up the engines”….better Dream Lover, more defined, more “hard-teal” and with a crescendo in the refrain that hats off (hammer rhythm section, perfect and to be the envy of many)….there is El Gran Deseo with its still hard-rock atmospheres/first NWOBHM, not essential but what a nice guitar interlude!…but here we are, Intranced are on track…The titletrack will bring you back sp mercilessly to another feeling (in case you have forgotten it) with a vaguely epic flavor and with a guitar solo in front of which there is only one to bow down, thrilling…and take a breather with the final Dance Macabre, terribly short acoustic-classical instrumental piece, too much for this fucking world….And we have thus arrived at an “end”…the portal closes and what remains is the sensation of having heard something “honestly” beautiful, still in the making, ready to surprise us and who knows…who knows if these guys will have the “courage” to project themselves into a future to be explored…we are already here waiting for a sequel…and we we will be in spite of a whole.
