Se ogni tanto torniamo a parlarvi della Fruits De Mer Records (label inglese ostinatamente dedita ad un psych-prog-kraut-folk-rock di scuola anni ’70) non è per pubblicità (cioè, non è assolutamente per questo anche perché non ci ricaviamo nulla) ma per il vinile (ed i suoi vinili), quella cosa nera che le nuove e vecchie generazioni dovrebbero ri-scoprire…il vinile e tutta la cultura hi-fi che c’è dietro….costosa senza dubbio ma basta “saper cercare” (la maggior parte dei miei componenti stereo l’ho trovata abbandonata in strada e perfettamente funzionante….quindi è fattibile anche spendendo poco). Gli Hanford Flyover ovvero Josh & Holly un duo anglo-americano che avevamo già apprezzato nel loro precedente Hanford Tape Sessions del 2021 ma in questo Source le sonorità si sposteranno leggermente dai “soliti” canoni psych della FDMR cosa che inizialmente ci ha un po’ spiazzato, atmosfere dream-pop e shoegaze più anni ’90 che ’70….segno dei tempi? Forse ma anche di una “apertura mentale” (stiamo parlando della FDMR) a nuovi suoni. Un lavoro più moderno, studiato, pulito, niente di imprescindibile (qui però siamo noi ad essere “di parte”) ma piacevole (tradotto potrebbero osare di più ma qui si entra in un ambito di scelte artistiche che non ci competono)….Pop…anzi dream-pop, Shadow On The Sun, Neutrino…..This Is Now e Formless suonano già più prog-folk fino alle atmosfere dark di Golden ed Entropy davvero niente male….Questo è quanto e ci piace così, di un osare abbiamo già detto ma a prescindere prestategli un ascolto (per il momento solo “liquido”, il vinile sarà disponibile ad ottobre) perché ne siamo certi i più lo apprezzeranno. Da Roots! è tutto e come sempre buon ascolto (per il momento qui).

If every now and then we come back to tell you about Fruits De Mer Records (English label stubbornly dedicated to a psych-prog-kraut-folk-rock of the 70s school) it is not for publicity (that is, it is absolutely not for this also because we do not get nothing) but for vinyl, that black thing that the new and old generations should re-discover…vinyl and all the hi-fi culture behind it….expensive without a doubt but you just need to “know how to look” (the I found most of my stereo components abandoned on the street and fully functional….so it’s feasible even on a budget). The Hanford Flyover or Josh & Holly an Anglo-American duo that we had already appreciated in their previous Hanford Tape Sessions of 2021 but in this Source the sounds will move slightly from the “usual” psych canons of FDMR which initially took us a bit by surprise , dream-pop, shoegaze atmospheres, more 90s than 70s…. sign of the times? Perhaps but also of a “mental openness” (we are talking about the FDMR) to new sounds. A more modern, studied, clean work, nothing essential (here, however, we are biased) but pleasant (translated, they could be more daring but we enter an area of artistic choices that are not our responsibility)….Pop….rather dream-pop, Shadow On The Sun, Neutrino…..This Is Now and Formless already more prog-folk up to the dark atmospheres of Golden and Entropy really not bad….This is it and we like it like this, we already dare said but regardless give it a listen (for the moment only “liquid”, the vinyl will be available in October) because we are sure the most will appreciate it. From Roots! that’s all and as always good listening (for the moment here).
