Sono di Poznań (Polonia….un tempo altro ed oggi altro)….Quattro ragazzi (Remi è quello nel mezzo) che hanno scelto un percorso musicale non certo facile e qui al loro album di debutto….”E la voce??”…Semplicemente una voce non c’è, il loro è un post-rock strumentale che a tratti ci ha ricordato i The Cure di Disintegration ma meno “cupo” (in realtà lo è ma con la differenza che siamo in un 2023)….Armonicamente arioso ed elegante anche se compositivamente le 8 tracce qui presenti si muovono seguendo uno stesso “schema” (se sia un limite non spetta a noi dirlo…una cosa però è certa, non state ascoltando musica prog anche se ne avrebbe tutte le qualità). Bello, un sentire quasi ambient ma attraversato da schegge elettriche sempre in divenire (Hive Mind, Reconnection, Neurons, Terra (ex Machina), Post-Human) ed un senso di incombente “nulla” malinconico quanto reale che aleggia su tutto l’album…E poi? E poi non ci resta che aspettare un seguito, come ce lo immaginiamo??…Difficile dirlo dopo quanto ascoltato, gli Aurora Falls non saranno i nuovi Pink Floyd ma ci piace pensare che la strada sia quella giusta. Da Roots! è tutto e come sempre buon ascolto (qui).

From Poznań (Poland….another time and today another)….Four guys (Remi is the one in the middle) who have chosen a musical path that is certainly not easy and here at their debut album….” And the voice??”…there simply isn’t a voice, theirs is an instrumental post-rock that at times reminded us of The Cure of Disintegration but less “gloomy” (actually it is but with the difference that we are in a 2023)….Harmonically airy and elegant even if compositionally the 8 tracks present here move following the same “pattern” (whether it is a limit it is not up to us to say…one thing however is sure, we cannot you are listening to prog even though it would have all the qualities of it). Beautiful, an almost ambient feel but crossed by ever-changing electrical splinters (Hive Mind, Reconnection, Neurons, Terra (ex Machina), Post-Human) and a sense of looming “nothing” as melancholy as real as it is that hovers over the whole album …And then? And then we just have to wait for a sequel, how do we imagine it??…hard to say after what I’ve heard, Aurora Falls won’t be the new Pink Floyd but we like to think that the road is the right one. From Roots! that’s all and as always good listening (here).
